BOTANICAL SURVEY
Botanical surveys to get to know the site in depth
The first stage of every design or green space restoration project by the landscape architecture practice Green Design® is always fact-finding: a survey to assess the existing conditions and any problems, so that they can then be solved.
Instrumental and photographic surveys for the best result
Whether for the restoration of historic parks or for new landscape projects, the purpose of the survey is to understand the site on which the team at the landscape practice Green Design® will work: its problems, the features worth enhancing and the client’s needs, so that every request can be met in the later stages of the work.
Through instrumental and photographic surveys, our landscape professionals gather enough material to draw up a plan of the existing garden or park, containing all the information needed to develop a design that matches the client’s needs as closely as possible while respecting the environment.
Surveys of historic parks and cataloguing of plant species
For historic parks, the instrumental survey is accompanied by an on-site catalogue of the existing plant species, so that a “map” of the tree planting can be drawn. This allows the landscape practice Green Design® to analyse and assess the historical value and the condition of the vegetation and structures, and to reconstruct the original tree planting of the park. Our landscape professionals can then develop a historic restoration project that integrates the existing historical fabric with the client’s new needs.
