Ex Colonie Padane Park

The regeneration of this park went through several phases: collecting data on the condition of the trees, cataloguing the historical layers and assessing which valuable trees should be kept. The park was designed and built in the knowledge that it is not a fixed, finished work but one that changes over time. The preliminary analyses aimed to read the condition of the greenery and understand the overall layout of the trees; this understanding of the place, in both analytical and evocative terms, led to the following works: regenerating the existing trees and planting; adding trees of fine variety and structure consistent with the retained tree layout; introducing new gravel footpaths; enhancing the existing spaces and buildings; and adding new play and recreational structures that stimulate creativity through the discovery of “old” and “new” forms of play.
